Duo with Manfred Olek Witt, Dancer and Choreographer
Behind the name ‘Theater am Ende’ the Polish performance artist, dancer, actor, and director Manfred Olek Witt who lives in Berlin is hiding. After studying Philosophy and Political Science he turned to dancing, cooperating at the Butoh project ‘Tatoeba Théatre Dance Grotesque’. Then he performed as an actor at the theatres ‘Affekt’ and ‘Teatr Kreatur’ in Berlin.
When he produced the first stage performances of his own, he founded ‘Theater am Ende’ in 1995. Besides solo-performances he is always on the lookout for the cooperation with other free groups and artists (E. G. DO-Theatre, St. Petersburg, Dyane Neiman, New York, and ‘Theater Thikwa’, Berlin). With his dancing solo ‘AXT’ (one can watch it at UNIDRAM) he took part in the competition ‘Das beste deutsche Tanzsolo’ of ‘Euroscene Leipzig’ and was awarded the special prize by the jury in 1997.
He conducted the performance ‘Bewegung in Ruhelage’ together with Joachim Gies in 2005.
